Marcus Brown

Marcus A. Brown is a lifelong resident of Bridgeport, Connecticut, where he has dedicated his career to workforce development and community leadership. He currently serves as State Representative for Connecticut’s 127th House District and Assistant Majority Leader in the Connecticut House of Representatives. He is also the Executive Director of the Bridgeport Pride Center, the city’s first LGBTQ+ community center, which opened in 2024.

Marcus earned his Associate degree in General Studies from Housatonic Community College and his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Southern New Hampshire University. His professional background includes extensive work in workforce development, having served as an Employer Relations Specialist at Workplace, Inc. and as Workforce and Local Content Coordinator with Vineyard Wind and Avangrid Renewables, connecting local residents with employment opportunities in emerging industries.

Prior to his current role in the State House, Marcus served on the Bridgeport City Council from 2017 to 2023, including as President Pro Tempore and chair of the School Construction Committee. In the Connecticut House, he serves as Vice Chair of the Transportation Committee and sits on both the Appropriations and Judiciary Committees. His legislative priorities include expanding workforce training programs, supporting local education funding, and creating economic opportunities for Connecticut residents.
