Since launching in 2021, the Leonard Litz Foundation has awarded over $6million in grants to dozens of nonprofit organizations serving the LGBTQ+ community. Our grantees include organizations of all sizes, with a strong emphasis on direct impact for the members of our community who need it most. While our geographic scope focuses primarily on the Northeast at the moment, we are proud to work with groups located in major metropolitan areas, as well as smaller organizations that don’t necessarily have the same access or visibility, but still manage to do incredible, life-affirming work in their communities. Our grants have helped fund a wide variety of programs and services, including LGBTQ+ youth summer camps, transgender mentorship programs, and mental health outreach.
These LGBTQ+ Community Centers are often “the heart and soul of their communities,” places where people can find resources, services, support, and a safe, welcoming space to just be. We at the Leonard Litz Foundation are proud to support their work, and we invite you to take some time to research the LGBTQ+ Community Centers in your own communities. You’ll be amazed and excited by the amount of good they can do with whatever support you can offer them.
